Historic New Orleans Courtyard Wedding Venue
We strive to make your New Orleans Wedding a Masterpiece at the DEGAS HOUSE, the only home or studio of the French Impressionist Master, Edgar Degas, open to the public anywhere in the world. The DEGAS HOUSE is available for New Orleans courtyard wedding ceremonies, receptions, bridal brunches, luncheons and rehearsal dinners for up to 350 people.
A good family: it is a really good thing to be married, to have good children, to be free of the need of being gallant. Ye gods, it is really time one thought about it. Edgar Degas, New Orleans, November 19, 1872
Your guests will enjoy an intimate setting combined with Creole elegance in our graceful double parlors, bathed in the original warm Victorian colors reflected in the paintings Degas created here.
A spacious courtyard is available for wedding ceremonies and receptions; The splendid Gallery is also available to host a cocktail reception prior to a seated dinner or luncheon event.
The Degas House is located on historic oak lined Esplanade Avenue, approximately one mile from the New Orleans French Quarter and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The home evokes the romance and mystery of a lost era for those seeking a unique setting for their New Orleans wedding.
