Degas-Bayou St. John House

Degas-Duvigneaud House

Holidays with Degas, Christmas 2014

  • House-PR

Holidays with Degas” on Tuesday, November 25th was, without a doubt, one of the most successful parties Degas House has ever held! Not only is Degas House a historic home, but it showed the hospitality industry and others that it is a great venue that knows how to throw a fun party! The guest list included local concierge, members of the tourism industry, the French Community (who said this was the most fun they had ever had here), future brides and our loyal customers and supporters.

  • 2 Countdown Sound

There was music everywhere! Countdown Sound DJ Services provided music in the courtyard. There was dancing, including line dancing and a second line.

  • Armand St. Martin

Armand St. Martin, pianist, was wonderful, and the crowd wanted more of his entertainment.

  • Jennifer Gaubert

Jennifer Gaubert with Stardust Jazz entertained and amazed guests in the parlor. What a spirited party it was!

The entire Degas House staff pitched in to make this party a success! Chris worked hard prior to the event to get the property in order; James and Laura greeted each guest personally as they arrived; Ms. Sharon of Degas House cooked all evening to provide the food that was donated by our generous vendors; everyone loved Rachel’s Peach Punch; Eva set up the property to provide a good flow for guests and provided information to prospective brides; Joanie and Leila were in the Gift Shop; Mae advertised the event on social media; LaLa personally made sure everyone had fun; and David did what he does best – greet and welcome everyone. We were happy to have such a large crowd!

  • 2 Tent

Guests toured the entire property, inside and out, admiring Edgar Degas artwork. Various companies had set up display areas showcasing what they offer. These vendors donated their products and services to make this party an even greater success, and we thank them for their participation.

  • 9 Blue Frog Chocolates
  • 3 Poppy and Mint
  • 5 Catering dOrleans

Pamela Reed Photography set up a beautiful display of prints of some of her photography in the gallery. The courtyard lighting was enhanced by Christmas red up-lighting provided by Countdown Sound and Productions. Two beautiful holiday arrangements, provided by Poppy and Mint Floral Company, enhanced the courtyard. The food was outstanding and we received many compliments. It was provided by Catering D’Orleans, New Orleans Fish House, Short Stop Poboys, Food Art, Acme Oyster House and Randazzo’s. Gambinos Bakery, Blue Frog Chocolates, and Pinkberry offered various desserts for guests. Guests enjoyed having their pictures taken in front of the gorgeous Christmas tree by ADN Art Photography. Timeless Beauty Day Spa gave spa treatments and showcased their products to guests. What fun for all!
