Estelle Suite
The Estelle Suite was home to Estelle, Degas Sister-in-law and 1st cousin famed for being the subject of many of his paintings. The room is luxuriously appointed and with many images of Estelle, It is the showpiece of the house, perfect for a bridal suite or honeymoon. Hardwood floors, lighting from a cut crystal chandelier, magnificent draperies, a luxurious four-post King feather bed and classic Victorian claw foot tub create an atmosphere of both intimacy and elegance. Relax and enjoy the lovely private balcony with its outdoor seating overlooking oak-lined Esplanade Avenue, setting for Degas famous painting Woman Seated on A Balcony. This spacious room provides a functional planners desk, (reproduction) for working at your laptop, (Wi-Fi is available in this and every room). There is also an alcove with a full size pull-out trundle, allowing the occupancy of up to four people in this room or expand the room further by opening the door to the Josephine Suite to accommodate large families or groups.
